This is the page I will try to update you on my computer work.

I currently have three computers at home. One is used as the firewall between you (the internet) and my home network. This is because I want to be at least a little bit save. I use a FreeSco server for this work. I am a Cable user (Chello from UPC) and that is a constant open line as you know.

A very easy and cheep to use firewall (also for non intelectual persons like me). It is based on Linux and can be run from only a floppy disk. I have it running on an old Dell P233 at the moment with hard disk installation. It is in fact more than enouph. I have only put a lot of memory in, 64mb for such a machine is a lot, and I had it laying arround. This to be able to run some additional services. Here you can see what kind of things it does for me.

Things I do most with my "big" pc (if you can call a PIII600mhz big) at the moment is working on a family tree of my family. Also I use it to capture my home made movies from my camara. For this I have made a seperate boot partition that is soly used for that purpuse. The reason for that is, it is faster and its more save. This keeps frame drops to a miminum (nothing to be exact).

My second pc is mainly used by my daughter. She uses it to play small games like Disney and Robbie Konijn. Also it is used if my wife and I want to go onto the internet at the same time. I also have a third pc that I want to install in due time for Melroy. He is to small now but in 2 years he can also play games etc.

Do you also sometimes have "something" agains Microsoft. If so you can find a small prair to get over the frustration at this place. I also downloaded some pictures on how to make standardized cat5 cabling. These are the streight cables. You can read about it here.

I have found a very easy to use script on the internet that can calculate bytes into MB's and GB's. I needed it as I use my internet connection to connect to my work and I wanted to check how much information I use up during those sessions.

I also found a great site with a listing of the most common used IP ports on the internet. This includes also a lot of the "gaming" ports. Please feel free to read it.

I also have found some explenations (thanks to the writers of thos) on how to do things with freesco. Check these out although I do need to update some of them. I am also going to (try) write down all things I have done with my freesco (beside these).
